Regional Insertion and Impact of the Program

1. Agreement with the City Hall of Araraquara
   Professionals are being trained to develop projects to improve oral health and provide care at the CEO. Instructional material, oral health campaigns, etc. have been developed. This work is coordinated by Dr. Eloisa Marcantonio Boeck, a dentist at the City Hall of Araraquara and a professor at Uniara.
   An internship program has been established for undergraduate students at the Center for Dental Specialties that operates at this Institution, in the areas of Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral Diagnosis, Special Patients and Orthodontics.
2. Agreement with CEDEFACE
   CEDEFACE - Center for Research and Treatment of Oral and Maxillofacial Deformities (http://www.cedeface.com.br) provides care to needy patients with oral and maxillofacial deformities. This is a civil association, of a philanthropic nature, non-profit, representing a class and recognized as a public utility in the Municipal, State and Federal spheres, and is currently installed in its own headquarters, thanks to the immense collaboration of society and the voluntary work of several professionals, also counting on the contribution of the Ministry of Health. In this agreement, Uniara offers support for the training of qualified professionals to treat patients with facial deformities and both parties offer their facilities for common use. In addition to the CEDEFACE facilities, Uniara and its faculty now have access to the database of patients undergoing orthodontic/surgical treatment, one of the largest in the country, and to the experience of its professionals.
3. A program on Rádio Uniara was created with weekly presentations to clarify dental treatments for the population of Araraquara and the region.
4. Television interviews to inform the population were also conducted by the faculty.

Master`s Degree in Implantology and Orthodontics - Uniara

The research group "Master`s Degree in Implantology and Orthodontics" aims to develop techniques, materials and models of action that contribute to the development of dentistry and, in particular, implantology and orthodontics, training critical professionals, prepared to interact with the productive, private and public sectors. In addition, the group will promote the development of multidisciplinary and multicentric research, favoring the exchange between institutions, professors, their respective research laboratories, and graduate students. The group will favor the development of Scientific Initiation projects of undergraduate students, providing their involvement in research projects and scholarship applications to prepare them for future entry into graduate programs. In addition, partnerships will be established with different companies (such as Conexão Sistemas de Próteses), with the city government of Araraquara and with the Center for the Treatment of Oral and Facial Deformities (CEDEFACE), which will favor the development of research projects that benefit the oral rehabilitation (functional and aesthetic) of the population of Araraquara and the region. Finally, this research group will make an important contribution to the Institution (Uniara) and, especially, to the undergraduate course in dentistry, resulting in an increase in the number of research projects, as well as technical-scientific improvement of students and scientific growth of teaching researchers.
